Gamble Named Second-Team VaSID All-State

Gamble Named Second-Team VaSID All-State Rising senior was also a Second-Team All-CAA selection



FERRUM, Va. (July 9, 2010) – Chelsea Gamble, a rising senior on the women’s lacrosse team, earned Second-Team VaSID All-State honors for her performance last season. Gamble was also a Second-Team All-CAA selection at midfield following a stellar junior season in 2010.



A team captain, Gamble started all 17 games last season and was a leader both on and off the field for the Patriots. She proved her versatility on both sides of the field with 13 goals, 15 assists and 28 points on offense, and 27 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers on defense. She added 21 draw controls.



In addition to its first and second teams, VaSID also announced the recipients of its Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year awards. Virginia’s Brittany Kalkstein won Player of the Year honors, James Madison’s Casey Ancarrow earned Rookie of the Year accolades and JMU’s Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe took home Coach of the Year honors.
