Freshman attacker, Caroline de Lyra, earns her first WomensLax.com Rookie of the Week honor, after notching an impressive offensive performance on Sunday, which led USC to its first MPSF win in the program’s history. De Lyra scored the first of her 3 goals only 30 seconds after the opening draw, but arguably the most impressive statistic of the 17-8 win, was her game-high 6 assists. De Lyra, a Brightwaters (NY) native, came to Los Angeles with an impressive resume – an Academic All-American, four-year letter winner at Bay Shore High School; an Under Armour All-American, All-County, and All-Long Island Newsday team member; the freshman has made an immediate impact on the young Trojan squad. De Lyra and the Women of Troy will hit the road for their first-ever away games, where they will face LIU Brooklyn and Princeton back east, and then UC-Davis, and Stanford, both MPSF contests. De Lyra and USC (2-2) open the road trip on Friday at 1PM PST in Brooklyn.
