Louisville junior midfielder, Nikki Boltja, earns her first WomensLax.com Player of the Week honor, after engineering a significant upset victory over the 13th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday. Boltja, a Medina (OH) native, and Louisville’s returning point leader made the most of her opportunities, both offensively and defensively in the 12-11 upset. Boltja was the first to find the twine for Louisville, but her final three goals of the game -- two to tie the score, and ultimately, the game winner -- made history for the Cardinals. Saturday marked Louisville’s fourth win over a ranked opponent in program history, and the highest-ranked team Louisville has defeated. Boltja notched 4 goals and 1 assist to lead her team with 5 points on the day, and added a ground ball and caused turnover to her stat line. Boltja and the Cardinals will conclude their three-game home stand when they welcome Old Dominion to UofL Stadium on Saturday at 1PM EST.
