Senior Goalkeeper leads Dukes to CAA Championship and NCAA Tournament Bid

James Madison's senior goalie, Morgan Kelly, clinches her first career WomensLax.com Player of the Week honor, after an impressive performance between the pipes as 7th-ranked James Madison notched their school record 16th win of the season, captured the CAA Championship, and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. In the semifinal and final games combined, Kelly made 12 saves with only 10 goals allowed, and contributed 3 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers. James Madison topped William & Mary 7-4, and Hofstra 10-6, en route to their 7th Conference Championship. Kelly was named the CAA Tournament MVP for her performance. Kelly has played a significant role in one of the best seasons in school history; the senior keeper has started all 18 games, recorded over 1000 minutes in net, with 115 saves and a .502 save percentage. Riding a nine game winning streak, Kelly and the Dukes earned a 5th-seed in the 2010 NCAA Tournament and will host Stanford on Saturday at 1 PM.
