Junior Midfielder leads Georgetown past Syracuse and UConn, to the top of the BIG EAST
Georgetown's Junior Midfielder, Ashby Kaestner, clinches Womenslax.com Player of the Week after her performances this past weekend in two victories against Big East opponents. In a four overtime thriller against 7th-ranked Syracuse, Kaestner notched the game-tying and game-winning goals. Kaestner tied the game at 10-10 with just over 10 minutes left in regulation and ended the contest in dramatic fashion, with 12 seconds left in the 4th overtime period to give the Hoyas an 11-10 victory. The midfielder picked up right where she left off against UConn on Sunday, scoring 4 goals and adding an assist, to go along with 3 ground balls and 4 draw controls. The Hoyas topped the Huskies 19-8, en route to a 4-0 record at the top of the Big East. Kaestner and the Hoyas return to action against another Big East opponent when they travel to Kentucky to take on Louisville next Saturday.
