Division I Player of the Week

5/12/2008

Carolyn  Davis : Duke

Davis' four goals set the pace for Duke to upset 6th-seeded Georgetown and advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals

Duke Junior, Carolyn Davis, is the WomensLax.com Player of the Week for the second time this season as she led the Duke Blue Devils to victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. Davis buried four goals on four shots, all in the first half, to pace Duke with an 8-5 lead going into halftime. The attacker now ranks 4th in Duke's single-season history with 55 goals on the season. Davis leads the Blue Devils in both goals (55) and points (70). The win marked a milestone in program history, as it was Duke's first NCAA Tournament victory away from the confines of Koskinen Stadium. Duke will continue their 11th consecutive NCAA appearance when they take on 3rd-seeded Maryland in College Park on Saturday.
